Ballymena Fatstock 2012

Ballymena is our local Mart so we where delighted to have such a successful day to end the 2012 show season with. We had 3 cattle on show.

The 1st of these to be in the ring was Blue Pearl, our Black N Blue Diesel sired calf. Out of a large entry of stock she was tapped out as Butchers Best on the day and later sold for £2600 weighing 550kgs- £4.70.kg.

She sold to local wholesale meat suppliers and butchers, “Crosskeys Meats”02894478481 to be sold in their butchers shops. This very sweet heifer had plenty of flesh and if your in the area we recommend getting a few steaks or a roast or two of her. www.crosskeysmeats.com  The heifer killed out an E grade with a 67% KO.

Our limmy sired steer The Outlaw, just back from his trip to Carlisle Agri Expo where he was Reserve Male Champion had a fantastic day, after winning the heavy weight steer class he was placed Open Champion, before going to the final line up where he was placed Overall Supreme Champion of the day.

This super steer which was champion at Limavady show and Reserve at Antrim Show  as well as his win at Carlisle, was snapped up by High end butcher- Mr. Mcdowell of Farmview Meats, Castlereagh, Belfast for £2500, he graded an E4L, and was full of meat, i for one will be ordering a Fillet or two from him. I recommend you do the same- 02890448444.

Finally our Black N Blue Sired Steer The Bachelor was shown by handler Rochard Fleming in the Young Farmers Classes where he won his class and was placed Young Farmers Champion., then in the final line up he was placed Overall Reserve Supreme Champion behind The Outlaw leaving us with a clean sweep.

The Bachelor

The Bachelor had a very successful summer show season with us and was sold to quality butcher and supporter of Ballymena Fatstock Show- Tom Mcmaster,  Carrickfergus. 02893353313 .

Again i will express that these shows only work with the support of both sponsors and buyers alike so i would urge anyone in the area of the 3 fore-mentionded butchers to call in and request some beef from these animals.
