Jalex Continues Winning Form At Clogher

Clogher Show always attracts one of the best entries of the season in the commercial cattle rings. The 2013 event was no exception, with each class bringing out quality and quantity.

There were two qualifiers for the Linden Foods Breeding Heifer Championships at Clogher with Clive Hoey and Stuart McIvor securing places at the final which takes on Froday 23rd August at the former Balmoral show grounds, Belfast.

Clogher has a number of different Championships within the commercial section. The first of these was the store section which saw James Alexander win with his Limousin sired heifer “Eddie Rocket”. Standing in reserve was her half brother “Steady Eddie”.

A British Blue heifer “Miss Steak” from the same home was top of the line in the Beef Heifer Championship, with her herd mate “Ted” securing the Beef bullock title.

These four cattle then went head to head for the Overall Championship which saw “Eddie Rocket” come out on top. The final line up were all bred and exhibited by James Alexander, Randalstown.
