Going For Gold At Omagh

Our Charolais steer “Gold Rush” was in top form at Omagh Show at the weekend when he was tapped out Supreme Champion in the commercial section.

There was a great show of commercial cattle forward for judging with Stirling based Craig Malone having the task of placing the entries.

He described his champion as an “outright winner on the day with an endless loin and a dream to handle”. Craig is a previous Royal Highland Show commercial champion winner and knows exactly what he is looking for in a beast. “I like stock to handle well and have good sound locomotion. The entry of cattle today were a credit to all the exhibitors, with some very good young calves of note.”

On the day our limousin sired steer also won his class and we where very glad to see Chris Johnston coming up trumps in the calf class with his home bred heifer “Ibiza Blue”, this calf being sired by our very own Black N Blue Diesel.

This follows on well from the previous year when our Black N Blue Diesel sired heifer, “Bootylicious” won the calf class.
